Mr. Zerbe joined Nuvera as Chief Executive Officer in late 2019. Prior to joining Nuvera, Mr. Zerbe served as Vice President of Sales for Frontier Communications Corporation, where he held positions of increasing responsibility since joining Frontier in 2011. Prior to his employment with Frontier, Mr. Zerbe had more than 20 years of sales and marketing leadership experience in the communications industry, with companies such as Spankink/Calabrio, Cisco Systems, AT&T and IBM. Mr. Zerbe also serves as Chair of Broadband Visions, Independent Emergency Services (IES), and Vice Chair on the Fiber Minnesota Board of Directors. He is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with an MS and BS in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, as well as an Executive MBA from Carnegie Mellon University-Tepper School of Business.

Ms. Bornhoft has been with Nuvera for more than 30 years and is critical to our operating activities, research, and long-term strategic planning. Ms. Bornhoft holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management and Communications from Concordia University. Additional professional development courses have been in the areas of technology, human resources, management, and marketing. Ms. Bornhoft has been active in numerous community and industry organizations and events.

Mr. Kawlewski began as CFO and Treasurer with Nuvera in 2009. Prior to that, he had many years in finance and accounting experience in the communications industry with companies such as Onvoy Voice Services and HickoryTech Corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Minnesota State University, Moorhead and holds his Certified Public Accounting License in Minnesota.
